Ingredients:
- All Purpose flour (Maida) - 1cup
- Dates (khajoor) - 22Pcs (Seedless)
- Milk - 1cup (You can use 2% or Whole milk)
- Sugar Powder - 1/2cup (or you can grind it)
- Canola oil - 1/2cup (cooking oil)
- Baking Soda - 1tsp (Plz don't use Baking Powder)
- Walnut - 5-6tbl spn or 1/8th cup crushed pieces or chopped(Optional)
Method:
- Soak the dates in warm milk for 3-4 hours or you can even microwave them for 2 mins so that dates become soft which helps in grinding.
- Grind the soaked dates along with milk.
- Pour into a wide mixing bowl.
- Add sugar, all purpose flour, canola oil, baking soda, walnuts and mix slowly.
- Mix well for 4-5mins.
- Preheat the oven at 350F.
- Grease the baking cake pan and pour the batter into it.
- Bake in a pre-heated oven (350 degrees F) for 35 minutes in the center/lower shelf or rack of the oven.
- Once done, take the cake out from oven and allow it to stand for 5 minutes.
Note: If you use
‘baking powder’ instead of ‘baking soda’, cake becomes a bit harder.
